CSB_STARDUST
A symbol of freedom in Casablanca, a flying star that lands in the city to cover an urban void, setting up a multipurpouse space where people can meet and enjoy during the full day.
The star indicates wisdom, peace, health and life; The green is the color of Islam, the official religion of the country.
STARDUST doesn’t want to be only a cover market based on its functionalism, but it will be also a landmark with a strong aesthetics, easily recognizable by everybody as a national positive symbol.
MARKET...or something more?!?!
The new roof is an active organism who contains everything to create a living market space; the structure hides a lifting system made of light boxes who stands at different position as the function inside needs. The lights connected with ropes, one time arrived to 60cm level, become stands useful for market. Depending on use, the interior design changes, and the same happens with the light intensity during the day and night, hosting different situations from public to intimate atmosphere.
The project runs in two parallel directions, searching a balanced proposal between the function requested and the actual multipurpouse square.
